Morning coffee

Chrizelle Lategan

"As the rain beats lightly against the window, you nestle your head deeper into your pillow.  The sound is soothing and your bed feels like a sanctuary.  There is no place you would rather be."

There aren't many things in life that I love more than sleeping in (ohh yes and eating). Especially on a rainy Saturday morning where you don't have much planned.

After arriving back from our US trip last week, I did not only bring back amazing memories but also a crazy New york flu.

So my remedy to this annoying flu was to stay in bed the whole weekend - accompanying myself with coffee, a good read and copious amount of meds/tissues. But I'm not complaining, as staying in bed has its ups..

It's funny how often I struggle to actually just sit back, get quiet and spend time with God! Yet, every time I do, it's like I breathe of fresh air.

When I do, I get to let go of all my anxieties and everything that's weighing on my heart.

Throughout this year I have learned to be intentional and purposeful in my relationship with God. Making time for Him everyday like all the other relationships in my life. (Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest.")

Sometimes all God wants - is for us to rest in Him and to just spend time in His presence. This is kind of hard to do these days, with our busy schedules and all.

However, lately I've found that putting aside 10 minutes for Him, has been the most rewarding experience.

I hope that everyone has an amazing week, only 4 days till the Weekend :)

xx
